Quizás sientes esto

  • One-off Earth Day cleanups don't build community — you want monthly action with the same crew.
  • You want to give back in Point Loma but don't know which ocean nonprofits are trustworthy and BIPOC-led.
  • Volunteer tourism charges fees to 'help' — the logic feels backwards for Point Loma working households.

Lo que cambia cuando los jóvenes entran al agua

  • Bilingual volunteer briefings and materials — 17% households in Point Loma fully included.
  • Cultural competency training for every direct-youth volunteer — mentor BIPOC teens respectfully.
  • Skills-based roles available — logistics, marketing, tutoring, photography, translation for Point Loma professionals.

Por qué operamos este programa en Point Loma

Point Loma's Sunset Cliffs coastline is too advanced for beginner instruction, but our Point Loma youth cohorts travel to OB Pier and Dog Beach for water sessions, with dryland instruction at Cabrillo National Monument and Point Loma Nazarene University (our educational partner). The Kumeyaay coastal history of the peninsula is woven into every Point Loma cohort curriculum.

Por qué Point Loma importa para nuestra misión

When we say free for Point Loma youth, we mean wetsuits, soft-tops, rashguards, sunscreen, transportation, and instruction — the full stack commercial programs charge $50–$150 per session for.

From Point Loma's Title I schools to the sand, our pipeline is built on real partnerships — not generic 'serving the area' language. Every cohort names the schools, beaches, and community orgs involved.
